Refund & Cancellation Policy
When you can cancel, how much you get back, and how long it takes to reach you.
This policy explains when you can cancel a programme, when you get your money back, how much, and how long it takes. It applies to everything you buy from CodeMetrix and forms part of our Terms of Service.
The short version. Changed your mind and barely started? Tell us within 7 days and you get a full refund. Cancelled by us? Full refund, always. Finished the programme, or a long way into it? No refund — but talk to us if something genuinely went wrong.
1. Cooling-off period
You can cancel any purchase within 7 calendar days of paying and receive a full refund, provided that, at the time you ask:
- for a self-paced course — you have completed less than 20% of its lessons; and
- for a cohort or live programme — the cohort has not yet started; and
- for an internship — a mentor has not yet been assigned to you; and
- no certificate has been issued to you for the programme.
The 7 days run from the date your payment is confirmed, not from the date the programme starts.
2. After the cooling-off period
Once the 7 days have passed, or once you have passed one of the thresholds above, the amount you get back depends on the kind of programme and when you ask.
| Programme | When you cancel | Refund |
|---|---|---|
| Self-paced course | Within 7 days, under 20% completed | 100% |
| After 7 days, or 20% or more completed | No refund | |
| Cohort or live programme | More than 7 days before the cohort starts | 100% |
| Within 7 days of the start date | 50% | |
| On or after the start date | No refund | |
| Internship | Before a mentor is assigned | 100% |
| Within 7 days of mentor assignment | 50% | |
| More than 7 days after mentor assignment | No refund |
Percentages are of the fee you actually paid, after any discount or scholarship. Where a programme page states a refund rule that differs from this table, the programme page governs that programme — and it will say so clearly before you pay.
3. When we cancel
If we cancel or withdraw a programme, fail to deliver it, or postpone a cohort to dates that do not work for you, you get a full refund — whatever stage you are at, and regardless of the table above. You can also choose to move to the next cohort or to another programme of the same value instead, if you would rather.
This applies to a material change too: if we substantially reduce what a programme contains after you have paid, you may cancel and be refunded in full.
4. What is not refundable
- A programme you have completed, or for which a certificate has been issued.
- Fees for re-issuing or correcting a certificate where the original error was in the details you gave us.
- Enrolments granted free of charge, under a scholarship, or as part of an institutional arrangement — there is nothing to refund.
- Any amount recovered from us through a chargeback for the same payment. We will not refund the same money twice.
5. Suspended or closed accounts
If we close your account because of a serious breach of the Terms of Service — impersonation, plagiarism, sharing paid material, or abuse of another student or a mentor — no refund is due for the remainder of the programme.
If we close your account for any other reason, or you close it yourself, the table in section 2 applies as at the date you asked.
6. How to ask for a refund
Raise a support ticket from your account, or write to codemetrix1@gmail.com. Please include:
- the order or payment reference from your purchases page;
- the programme name;
- the email address on your account;
- a sentence on why you are cancelling — you do not have to give a reason inside the cooling-off period, but it genuinely helps us fix things.
We acknowledge refund requests within two working days and decide within seven working days. If we need something from you to decide, the clock pauses until you send it.
7. How the money comes back
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. We cannot send a card payment to a bank account, or a UPI payment to a different UPI ID — this is a rule of the payment system, not ours.
| How you paid | How it returns | Typical time after approval |
|---|---|---|
| Card, net banking, UPI or wallet via Razorpay | Reversed to the same card, account, UPI ID or wallet | 5–10 working days |
| Cash | Bank transfer to an account in your name | 7–10 working days |
| Direct UPI transfer to us | Transfer back to the paying UPI ID | 5–7 working days |
The last stretch is your bank's, not ours. Once Razorpay confirms the refund we will send you the reference number, and if the money has not reached you a few days later that reference is what your bank needs.
We refund the full approved amount. We do not deduct the payment gateway's fee from what you get back, even though that fee is not returned to us.
8. Taxes
Where GST was charged, it is refunded in the same proportion as the fee. Where a tax invoice was issued, we issue a credit note against it.
9. Chargebacks
If you believe a payment was wrong, please ask us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback freezes the amount for weeks and gives you your money no faster than we would.
While a chargeback is open on a payment we may suspend access to the programme it paid for, until the bank decides.
10. If you disagree with our decision
Reply to the ticket and ask for it to be reviewed. A second person will look at it, and we will give you our reasons in writing within 30 days. Nothing in this policy affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including your right to approach a consumer forum.
